Any value of your choice from 1 (botched student work, the kind that can be found a dime a dozen) to 9 (original copy of a groundbreaking piece of art that still be revered in a few centuries). Rarity is more or less synonym of quality here.Kitsuki Ketsudan wrote: ↑Mon Jun 27, 2022 11:11 amIf I wanted to do a fancily written scroll for my gift for the monastery, what Rarity would I use for purposes of rolling? Closest that comes to mind from the rules would be the 2 of Omamori, but I figured I'd check.

Re: GM questions
I figure these two questions would apply to everyone:
1) Are there any limitations on leaving the monastery for the night so long as we are there in the morning for events?
2) Is sake available to purchase within the area of the game?

Outside of your two timeslots of sleep, no mechanical restriction. There's actually no gatekeeper at the monastery, people can more or less waltz in and out at any time of the day or the night.
You can find cheap to decent sake in quantity at the village, and maybe a bottle or two of a prestigious batch that the shopkeeper is keeping in their reserve just for occasions like this one.

I'm a bit confused by the Divination option of the Event and wasn't sure who to target. Does it directly contribute to the Event or is it just an opportunity use Divination?

The later, but in hindsight, with how meh Divination is mechanically, it's just not a worth it spending an action for that.Seppun Hibiki wrote: ↑Wed Jun 29, 2022 3:36 pmI'm a bit confused by the Divination option of the Event and wasn't sure who to target. Way to late in the day to change how it works for Day 1, especially after other people with that Ritual have rolled for the event. But a better opportunity to use it will be offered on Day 2.

Re: GM questions
Just realized I accidentally incremented both my day and my action during one of my rolls so it's labeled as D3. It is labeled as the event as well. I assume that will be ok (especially since it failed anyway) or did you want a reroll?

Is okay, the real life date of the roll makes it clear it's a Day 2 event anyway.

Yes, but only one of the two checks, like the Miya Cartographer School Ability. Event post edited to include it.Kitsuki Ketsudan wrote: ↑Thu Jun 30, 2022 11:17 amWill Navigator apply to the Survival check for Sensei Wu's Game, viewtopic.php?f=33&t=30&start=3?

For this (as it wasn't clear to me):
Does Sensei Wu and the man with a basket on his head count as two different characters?Cross-reference your sources: If you interacted with 3 or more different characters (successfully or not), you gain 1 Impression point. If you interacted with 5 or more different characters, gain yet another 1 additional Impression point (for a total of +2).

Perfectionism is one of these disadvantages that could technically apply to everything and anything, so I try not to overuse it, but yes, this one action is pretty much one of the examples the book gives for it, so no escape here.

I asked mostly because of the parallel to the D1 event.

Re: GM questions
Something I wanted to clarify, as I understand Attendants are a little altered.
When rolling for assistance from an attendant is this:
A) doable in events?
B) How is it handled for this game, is it a replacement or is the NPC profile rolling on my behalf?
Thank you for your time!

B) They don't roll in your stead. However, once a day, they can grant Assistance to something your character is doing, i.e. grant an extra rolled and kept die on any check kinda like a Void point. See here for more.
Re: GM questions
This reminds me I completely forgot to use my assistant bonus on both days!
Might not make much of a difference, but could I maybe add one rolled (and possibly kept) die to one of my checks for D2?
