Allow me to summarize, Seppun-sama:

We are accustomed to mountaintops. In many places, rooftops are the locations most similar to mountaintops. Ergo, we tend towards them out of a sense of comfortable familiarity.

Also, they allow generally superior vantage points for observation and consideration. And they tend to limit avenues of attack upon us while allowing us to more effectively intervene in many cases, if need arises.

I have no doubt Seppun-sama is sufficiently athletic to make attempt at such. It would doubtlessly edify.
